Scenario

A chain of 40 stores wants promotional screens at the entrance and checkout. Head office controls brand campaigns; store managers need to add local offers. Brand partners pay for in-store placements and want proof they ran.

Recommendation
HardwareSamsung Tizen or LG webOS commercial displays (no extra box), or Android players behind existing TVs
GroupsOne group per region, e.g. Stores – North; a screen belongs to exactly one group
LayoutWindow/entrance: full-screen video. Checkout: main zone + bottom ticker with offers
ScheduleBrand campaign (priority 5) on all groups; local offers (priority 7) per screen; seasonal campaigns with date ranges
PlanPro — needed for layouts and proof of play

Set it up

Pair the screens

Install Veyli Player on each display and pair it with the 6-character code. Name screens consistently, e.g. ST014-Entrance, ST014-Checkout-1. See Pair your first screen.

Organise into groups

Create one screen group per region and move each screen into its group. Add tags like entrance or checkout for filtering.

Build the campaign playlist

Upload campaign videos (MP4 H.264, 1080p) to a Campaigns/2026-Q4 folder in the Media library. Create a playlist and set a validity window on each item so it disappears automatically when the promotion ends.

Create the checkout layout

Build a layout with a main zone for the campaign playlist and a ticker zone with an RSS feed or text offers.

Schedule it

Create a schedule targeting all regional groups at priority 5. Give store managers the Editor role so they can add priority-7 local-offer schedules for their own screens.

Report to partners

At month end, export a proof-of-play report filtered by media item and share the CSV with each brand partner.

Tips

  • Shoot for silence. Most store screens are muted; make sure videos work without audio and add captions.
  • Keep it short. 8–15 seconds per item at the entrance; shoppers are walking past.
  • Use dayparting to promote coffee in the morning and ready meals after 4 pm — see Dayparting.

Need to pull a product recall notice onto every screen right now? Use Emergency override — it beats every other schedule.
