Screen Groups
A screen group is a set of screens you manage together — usually by location (Lisbon store), region (EMEA) or purpose (Menu boards). Every screen belongs to exactly one group.
What a group gives you
- Schedule once, play everywhere — schedules targeting a group apply to every screen in it, including screens added later.
- Shared default content — set a fallback playlist on the group; screens inherit it unless they override it.
- Shared settings — timezone, orientation, volume, on/off hours and alert rules can be set at group level.
- Scoped access — Admins can restrict Editors and Viewers to specific groups.
Create a group
New group
Go to Screens → Groups → New group and enter a name.
Set defaults
Choose the group’s timezone, default content, display on/off hours and alert rules.
Move screens in
Select screens in the list, click Move to group, and pick the group. Or choose the group while pairing.
Inheritance
Settings resolve from most specific to least: screen → group → workspace. A screen shows an Inherited badge next to any setting it gets from its group; click Override to set a screen-specific value.
Need a screen in two “groups” — say Lisbon store and Checkout screens? Keep groups for location, and use tags on screens (checkout, window) for cross-cutting sets. Schedules can target tags too.
Deleting a group
A group must be empty before it can be deleted. Move its screens to another group first; schedules targeting the deleted group are removed.
