Monitoring & Alerts
Veyli shows the real-time health of every screen and can alert you before a customer notices a black display.
Status
Players send a heartbeat every 30 seconds. A screen is marked Offline after 2 minutes without one.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🟢 Online | Heartbeat received, content in sync |
| 🔵 Syncing | Downloading new content; still playing the previous version |
| 🟡 Warning | Online, but with a problem: low storage, failed download, clock drift, display off unexpectedly |
| 🔴 Offline | No heartbeat for 2+ minutes. The screen may still be playing cached content |
Offline doesn’t mean blank. Players keep playing cached content without a connection. Offline means you can’t reach the screen — not necessarily that customers see nothing.
Screenshots
Open a screen and click Take screenshot to capture exactly what’s on the display right now. You can also enable Periodic screenshots (every 5, 15 or 60 minutes) per group; the latest is shown as the screen’s thumbnail in the list.
Some platforms restrict screenshots of DRM-protected video or browser content — those areas may appear black.
Device health
The Overview tab of each screen shows: player version, OS, IP address, uptime, storage used by the cache, CPU temperature (where available), display resolution, and the last sync time.
Alerts
Create an alert rule
Go to Screens → Alerts → New rule.
Pick a condition
- Screen offline for more than N minutes (default 10)
- Content sync failed
- Storage above 90%
- Display off during opening hours (supported hardware only)
Pick targets and recipients
Apply the rule to all screens or specific groups. Send to members by email, to a Slack or Microsoft Teams channel, or to a webhook.
Set quiet hours
Suppress alerts outside opening hours so screens switched off at night don’t wake anyone up.
Alerts are sent once when the condition starts and once when it resolves.
