Playlists
A playlist is an ordered list of media items that plays in a loop.
Create a playlist
New playlist
Go to Playlists → New playlist, enter a name and pick an orientation (landscape or portrait). The orientation is used for previews and to warn you about mismatched media.
Add items
Click Add media to pick from the library, or drag items straight from the media panel. You can also add another playlist as an item (a nested playlist) — handy for a shared “brand bumper” used in many loops.
Configure each item
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Duration | 10 s (images), full length (video) | How long the item is shown |
| Valid from / until | Inherits from media | Item only plays within this date range |
| Days & hours | Always | Optional per-item daypart (e.g. only on weekends) |
| Transition | Fade | Fade, slide or cut |
| Fit | Cover | Cover (crop to fill), Contain (letterbox) or Stretch |
Preview and save
Preview plays the loop in your browser. Save stores a draft; nothing changes on screens until you Publish.
Publishing
Screens only receive changes when you click Publish. This lets you edit safely during the day and push everything at once. The player receives the new version within seconds, downloads any new media in the background, and switches over at the end of the current item — no black frames.
Playlists that are already assigned to screens show a Unpublished changes badge when you’ve saved but not published.
Playback order
- Sequential (default) — items play in the order shown.
- Shuffle — random order, reshuffled each loop. Useful for long ad rotations.
Tips
- Keep loops short enough that passers-by see the whole message — 60–120 seconds for retail, longer for waiting rooms.
- Use validity windows instead of manually removing expired promos.
- Duplicate a playlist to create a regional variant, then schedule each to its own screen group.
