Corporate Communications

Scenario

A company with offices on several floors wants screens in lobbies, kitchens, and hallways showing company news, KPIs, meeting room info, and safety messages. Internal comms owns the content; IT owns the hardware and wants SSO.

Recommendation
HardwareChromeOS devices or Windows mini-PCs (managed by IT); BrightSign for lobby video walls
GroupsOne group per office or floor, e.g. HQ – Floor 3
LayoutMain zone (news + KPI dashboards) + sidebar (clock, weather) + bottom ticker (RSS from the intranet)
ScheduleBusiness hours Mon–Fri 08:00–18:00; screens dim or show a low-key loop after hours
PlanPro for layouts; Enterprise if you need SSO/SAML and audit export

Set it up

Connect your identity provider (Enterprise)

Configure SSO so staff sign in with their company account. Assign Editor to the comms team and Viewer to stakeholders who only need to preview. See Members & roles.

Pair the screens

IT installs Veyli Player on each device (see ChromeOS or Windows), enables kiosk mode, and pairs it into the right floor group.

Build the layout

Create a three-zone layout. Add widgets: Clock and Weather in the sidebar, an RSS feed from your intranet in the ticker.

Add live dashboards

Add your KPI or BI dashboard as a web page item using a public, read-only share link. Set a refresh interval of 5–15 minutes.

Schedule business hours

Create a schedule Mon–Fri 08:00–18:00 at priority 5, plus an after-hours fallback playlist.

Tips

  • Give every message an expiry. Use the playlist item validity window so last month’s all-hands announcement disappears on its own.
  • Keep text big. If you can’t read it from 3 metres away, it’s too small.
  • Plan for emergencies. Pre-build an evacuation playlist so Emergency override is one click away.

Don’t put confidential data on screens in lobbies or shared spaces. Use group-specific schedules to keep internal KPIs on employee-only floors.
