Scenario

A clinic network wants screens in waiting rooms showing wellness content, wait-time information, and service announcements, plus staff-area screens for shift notices. Content must be approved before it goes live, and screens must keep running even when hospital Wi-Fi is unreliable.

Recommendation
HardwareCommercial displays with built-in players (Tizen / webOS) or Android players; wired Ethernet where possible
GroupsWaiting rooms, Staff areas, per site
LayoutMain zone (health education) + sidebar (wait-time web page or clock) + ticker (announcements)
ScheduleOpening hours on waiting-room screens; seasonal campaigns (e.g. flu vaccination) with date ranges
PlanPro; Enterprise for SSO and audit-log export for compliance

Set it up

Lock down roles

Content creators get Editor, and only a small approver group gets Admin so they can review and publish. Review every change in the audit log. See Members & roles.

Pair screens on a reliable network

Use Ethernet or a dedicated device VLAN. Allow outbound HTTPS 443 to *.veyli.cloud and cdn.veyli.cloud and UDP 123 for NTP. Content is cached locally, so screens keep playing through Wi-Fi drops.

Build waiting-room content

Upload captioned videos and slides. Keep waiting-room loops long (20–30 minutes) so patients don’t see the same item repeatedly.

Add wait-time or queue information

Add your queue system’s display page as a web page item in a sidebar zone of the layout. Use a URL that doesn’t require login.

Schedule campaigns

Create schedules with date ranges for seasonal campaigns (e.g. October–December flu shots) at a higher priority than the evergreen loop.

Tips

  • Never show patient data. Signage screens are public; queue displays should use ticket numbers, not names.
  • Captions on everything. Waiting rooms are usually muted and need to be accessible.
  • Set up offline alerts for critical screens under Monitoring.

For facility-wide alerts (e.g. a lockdown or evacuation), pre-build an emergency playlist and trigger it with Emergency override.
