Emergency Override

An emergency override instantly replaces whatever is playing on selected screens — for evacuations, lockdowns, severe weather or urgent announcements. It beats every schedule regardless of priority.

Who can trigger one

Owners and Admins can trigger overrides by default. Admins can also grant the permission to specific Editors under Settings → Members.

Trigger an override

Open Emergency

Click the red Emergency button in the top bar of the dashboard (visible to permitted members only).

Choose the message

Pick a pre-built template (evacuation, shelter in place, severe weather, system test) or any playlist/layout. Templates can be edited in advance under Schedules → Emergency templates — prepare them before you need them.

Choose the screens

Select All screens, one or more groups, or individual screens.

Set duration

Until cancelled (default), or a fixed duration (e.g. 30 minutes).

Confirm

Type CONFIRM and click Send override. Online screens switch within ~2 seconds; the dashboard shows a live count of screens that have acknowledged.

Ending an override

Click End override in the red banner at the top of the dashboard. Screens immediately return to their normal schedule.

Offline screens

Screens that are offline when the override is sent will display it as soon as they reconnect, provided the override is still active. Because they can’t be confirmed, the dashboard lists them separately so you can act on them.

Digital signage is not a substitute for a certified life-safety or mass-notification system. Use emergency overrides alongside your building’s official alarm systems, not instead of them.

Every override — who sent it, to which screens, and when it ended — is recorded in the Audit log.
